Daughters of God
Every woman in the Bible has a story to tell. Some stories are long, and we have the advantage of absorbing the very fabric of their lives, while some stories are only a sentence or two, and we may only imagine what is left unsaid. In many of the stories, we learn of the women by name, but in many other stories, the women, of no less importance, remain unnamed. However, each woman’s story is woven into the rich history of the Old and New Testaments. These women’s stories are in the Bible for the purpose of allowing us to hear God’s voice, and for teaching and setting examples for us to either follow or avoid.
“As you move forward and read these dramas, you will receive the gift of discovering how eloquently the author captures the defining moments in the lives of Eve, Hannah, Naomi, Ruth, Esther, Lady Wisdom, Mary Mother of Jesus, Mary Magdalene, Martha of Bethany and Mary of Bethany. It is these defining moments that remind us that we belong in the overarching narrative of God’s story among God’s people.” –Jill Sweet, Doctor of Ministry, Come, Learn, Rest Ministries.
